Back in April 1986, I travelled to Aichi, Japan to begin what would be one of the most amazing years of my life. At the age of 15, I was leaving home to go on student exchange. I had no idea how much Japan would get under my skin. I've never really been able to shake it off. It is as much a part of me as my native Australia. In fact, I have never felt at home in any place like I do when I am in Japan.
Now 30 years later, I am returning to Japan on the trip that has been waiting for me forever. The stint back in '86 was merely laying the groundwork for this journey, where I finally get to synthesise all that I have experienced and learned about Japan with my love for the universal healing energy of Reiki. I have returned to Japan a number of times since 1986, my last visit a professional development period with The Japan Foundation in 2001. At that time, I had not yet been attuned to Reiki, and knew very little about its incredible healing power. Now as an Usui Reiki Ryoho practitioner, I cannot wait to visit the sacred birthplace of Reiki, to meet the traditional masters that continue to teach the original methods and rituals, and to meet other people like me who are on their own personal "pilgrimage" to their spiritual home. Right now I can barely think of anything other than how I will spend my two weeks in Japan. It isn't a long time, but it's enough for now.
I am so excited and I just can't hide it....so I am going to share it to the cybersphere. Stand by! Yoroshiku😊
